TAB-UTL2/LF is a distributed control system designed to integrate multiple lower-level automation systems, such as SCADA applications, with a single, centralized user interface. It was developed by the German firm TAB GmbH as part of their “Utility Line” product line.
The system consists of several modules, including a controller, various communications modules for data interchange with lower level systems, logic programmers and an engineering workstation. Additionally, the TAB-UTL2/LF also features an Advanced Terminal System (ATS) which integrates multiple graphics and monitor screen displays from different automation systems, to provide a single user-friendly platform for effective control and overview of operations.
The TAB-UTL2/LF system has been widely deployed in the energy, utilities, and manufacturing industries around the world. It is particularly popular amongst utilities due to its flexibility and scalability, and ease of use compared to other commercial DCS systems.
