Technical Data Sheet LOCTITE E01 July 2007 Description: Loctite E01 will bond to a wide variety of materials (i.e. wood, metal, plastic and ceramic) and cure rapidly to give handling strength in approximately 5 minutes. It is also available packed into the handy EDS cartridge which provides metered and mixed adhesive directly onto the components. Combined, these features provide an adhesive suitable for the rapid assembly of small components or for fast and effective repair work. Physical Properties: Part A - Resin Part B - Hardener Mixed Colour Clear Clear Clear Viscosity (mPa.s) 60,000 12,000 35,000 Specific Gravity 1.2 1.13 1.16 Mix Ratio- By Weight 100:94 Gap Fill <1 mm - By Volume 1:1 (on a vertical surface) Generally the recommended service temperature range for this product is -55 to + 100C. However experience has shown that higher temperatures, of around 200C, may be endured for short periods providing the adhesive is not unduly stressed. Typical Performance: The cure speed of 2 part Handling Working Cure Speed Usable Life Full Strength epoxy resins is generally Strength Strength affected by the ambient - at 23C 30 mins 24 hrs. temperature. A fall of 8C 3 mins. 5 mins - at 60C 2 mins 30mins. will roughly double the cure time a rise of 8C will tend to halve it. On Composites this adhesive is capable of strengths similar Lap Shear Strength 9 to that achieved on steel but in most cases delamination on (MPa) (Steel) the composite will occur before this load is reached. On EN1465:1995 Aluminium & Copper alloys the modulus and thickness of the metal will define the ultimate bond strength achieved. Storage: When stored in the original containers at 5 25C, the shelf life of the product is 36 months from the date of manufacture. Handling: Full information can be obtained from the Material Safety Data Sheet (M.S.D.S.). Users are reminded that all materials, whether innocuous or not, should be handled according to the principles of good industrial hygiene. TM TDS LOCTITE E01 , July 2007 Directions for Use: Thoroughly mix Resin (A) and Hardener (B) in the correct proportion. Do not mix more material than can be applied during the usable life of the product. Surfaces should be clean, dry and grease free before applying the adhesive. Where maximum strength is required then the surfaces should be shot blasted, or lightly abraded, in the presence of Loctite SIP. Loctite E01 can be cured at temperatures down to 0C but care must be taken to ensure the surfaces are not coated with condensation.
