MCA-10 is part of the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Maritime Capacity Analysis (MCA) program. It is a study of the maritime industry's capacity to meet the needs of global maritime transport and trade, based on a set of global indicators. The MCA-10 measures include the following: shipbuilding capacity, ship financing, vessel utilization and tonnage availability, port infrastructure, shipping and transport costs, port competitiveness, ships' energy efficiency, cargo trade volumes, capital investments, and the maritime industry's compliance with global standards. The MCA-10 aims to create an understanding of the maritime industry's capacity for meeting current and future demand for maritime transport, trade and services. This analysis is conducted every two years, and results are published in the Strategic Outlook for the Global Maritime Industry report.
