Iskra law is a set of regulations enforced in the European Union, which seeks to protect consumers from illicit or unfair practices in the sale of goods and services. The procedure should be easily accessible, impartial, transparent, fair and effective. The procedure should offer consumers a means to resolve disputes without having to go to court, and should take into account the different cultural backgrounds of EU consumers. The regulation also details the rights of consumers to withdraw from certain types of contracts, such as online distance contracts, without having to show a breach of contract. Additionally, it sets out the information that suppliers must provide to consumers before they enter into a contract. Finally, the regulation sets out the legal consequences if suppliers do not comply with consumer protection laws in the EU, such as criminal sanctions and financial penalties.
