Stal
IskraStal is a Polish steel manufacturer located in Krakow and specializing in producing microalloyed steels. The steel grade 37.425.296 is a special quenched and tempered constructional fine-grain steel with minimum yield strength of 425 MPa, which has been specially developed to be used in components requiring high toughness at low temperature. Its chemical composition includes 0.25% C, 0.4% Mn, 0.5% Si, 0.5% Cr, 0.3% Mo, 0.02% S, and 0.03% V. Its mechanical properties include a yield strength of 425 MPa, a 0.2 % yield strength of 373 MPa, a toughness ( Charpy V-Notch at -60 °C ) of 55 J and an elongation at fracture of 16%. The steel is also good weldability, being pre-heated before welding and stress-relieved after welding.
