The ITT DBE-25P (Digital Broadband Encoder) is a digital audio encoder and modulator that is used to transmit audio data in digital format over multiple channels through a single coaxial cable. It is specifically designed for the digital broadcasting of audio signals in television (TV) transmission systems and is compliant with international telecommunications standards (ITU-R.BT.1700). The DBE-25P encodes and modulates audio data which can be used for both analog and digital broadcast systems, and it also offers support for unmatched audio/video synchronization. The unit has AES/EBU stereo input, balanced analog stereo inputs, up to six programmable outputs, multiple sound encoding options, phase-locked loop (PLL) stability, an independent S/N output monitoring system, a MPEG compatible diagnostic port, and a built-in headphone amplifier to facilitate audio quality testing.
