The ITT DEMAE 9S-FO is an autostab system designed to stabilize various types of underwater vessels. The system monitors and adjusts roll, pitch and yaw stability in real-time to maintain a stable platform for a vessel’s operator to perform operations with. The system includes several components including: two 9-axis force sensors, an on-board processor, a reinforced cable, power supplies and a control unit. The 9-axis force sensors measure acceleration, force, and direction of the vessel in order to generate control signals that influence stabilization in all axes. By combining sensor readings with a powerful computer processor, the DEMAE 9S-FO can quickly identify disturbances in the vessel’s attitude and adjust stability to offset them. The system can be used with all types of vessels, and with depths up to 400 meters.
