The Defense Emergency Response 9SF179 part of ITT grant, also known as the DE-9SF17-9, is a fund in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). It provides grants to assist state, local, and tribal governments in combating the impacts of terrorist activities. The grant offers financial assistance to state, local and tribal government entities, as well as certain non-profit organizations and institutions of higher education, to assist them to prepare for, protect against, respond to, and recover from terrorist activities. The ultimate goal of the grant is to enhance the ability of governments, institutions and other organizations to deter, protect against, mitigate, prepare for, respond and recover from acts of terrorism.
