JKL is an area code that serves the areas of Newtownabbey, Antrim and certain parts of Belfast in Northern Ireland. It was created in October 1995, when the prefix 028 was 07 split into two areas. The area covered by the JKL area code includes a number of suburbs, including Ballyclare, Carrickfergus, DOON, Islandmagee, Whitehead and dozens of small, rural villages. The area also includes many popular tourist attractions, from the Antrim Coast and the Ulster American Folk Park to Glenariff Forest Park and Belfast Zoo.
