Addiction-Severity Index
KAL-D stands for "Knowledge about Alcohol, Drugs, and Addiction–Disorder Severity". It is a part of the Kessler-Ellis Addiction-Severity Index (K-EASI), which is a comprehensive assessment instrument used in the field of addiction medicine. KAL-D is used to measure the knowledge and attitudes of substance-using individuals regarding alcohol, drugs, and addiction-related issues. It includes questions concerning the types of drugs used, the impact of drug use on different areas of functioning, and strategies for addressing or managing drug use or related problems. A variety of question formats are used in the KAL-D, including multiple choice and true/false items. The score generated from KAL-D can be used to identify areas of needs for education and other interventions.
