The SST553-02-DA with Fiber Optic/Laser Sensors ROHS manufactured by Kodenshi is a highly sensitive optical proximity sensor. It is especially designed for use in automotive applications like detection of breakage, water intrusion, or intrusion of objects. The sensor is based on long distance (4 to 5 metres) optical fiber and laser technology which accurately detects the position of subjects without contact. It is resistant to electromagnetic interference, temperature and humidity. It has a small housing size of only 10x13mm and can be used in various automotive applications including airbag deployment. It is RoHS compliant and meets all the safety standards for automobiles.
