Kradex Z51 is a self-extinguishing, high-performance, synthetic rubber based, non-slump fire damping compound specifically designed for the fire protection of structural steel and other steel sections. It is a two component system; resin and hardener. It is a single pack system that does not require any special storage or handling conditions. It is an elastomeric, intumescent, deformable, inorganic substance that swells upon exposure to fire. Upon exposure to fire, the material’s intumescent properties enable it to produce a char layer that insulates and retards the propagation of heat and fire. Kradex Z51 is suitable for shop priming and is certified by Warnock Hersey as a top coat coating system for steel, concrete and masonry structures.
