Additional Infomation About Product

formation The TZ-3 of the Kraftberg Formation is a sequence of fluvial and shallow-marine sandstones and mudstones deposited in the eastern part of the Hordaland Group during the early to middle Miocene. This unit occurs in the upper part of the formation and commonly consists of white to yellowish sandstones with thin interbeds of mudstone or siltstone. The sandstones are typically medium to coarse-grained and glauconitic in composition, indicating that they were deposited in an offshore environment. The mudstones or siltstones are usually silty or sandy in character and are often rich in fossilized shells. The TZ-3 also contains thin beds of conglomerate. This sequence of sediments was likely deposited in a shallow marine environment in the Miocene, and represents a transition into the marine environment from the more fluvial environment of the TZ-2.
