Launch System The KS-15BK is a part of the KSS Launch System from Kongsberg, Norway. It is a launch vehicle or booster rocket, that is used for launching small satellites and doing research and experiments on Earth-orbiting satellites. The KS-15BK launch system was developed as a response to the need for a more cost-effective and reliable launch system for small satellite applications. The KS-15BK is one of the smallest and lightest members of the family of launch vehicle. It consists of four Solid Rocket Motors (SRM) to provide the thrust that is needed to launch the satellite into orbit and a payload fairing to protect the satellite payload during launch. The rocket is 15 meters in height and has a diameter of 80 centimeters. The payload fairing has a diameter of 1.1 meters and can carry a payload of up to 150 kg. The KS-15BK is designed to launch satellites in the micro- to nano-satellite ranges. It has an orbital reach of more than 700 km and can carry payloads in sun-synchronous orbits, polar orbits, and other custom orbits as needed.
