XR33052/XR33053/XR33055/XR33058 60V Fault Tolerant 3.0V to 5.5V RS-485/RS-422 Transceivers Description FEATURES The XR33052, XR33053, XR33055, and XR33058 (XR3305x) are 3.0V to 5.5V operation a family of high performance RS-485/RS-422 devices designed for 60V fault tolerance on analog bus pins Extended 25V common mode operation improved performance in noisy industrial environments and increased Robust ESD protection: tolerance to system faults. 15kV HBM (bus pins) The analog bus pins can withstand direct shorts up to 60V and are 4kV HBM (non-bus pins) protected against ESD events up to 15kV HBM. An extended 25V Enhanced receiver fail-safe protection for common mode operating range allows for more reliable operation in open, shorted or terminated but idle data lines noisy environments. Hot swap glitch protection on DE and The XR3305x receivers include full fail-safe circuitry, guaranteeing a RE pins logic-high receiver output when the receiver inputs are open, shorted Driver short circuit current limit and or undriven. The XR33052/53/55 receiver input impedance is at least thermal shutdown for overload protection 120k (1/10 unit load), allowing more than 320 devices on the bus. Reduced unit loads allows up to 320 devices on bus The XR33058 receiver input impedance is at least 30K (1/2.5 unit Industry standard 8-pin and 14-pin load), allowing more than 80 devices on the bus. NSOIC packages The driver is protected by short circuit detection as well as thermal -40C to 85C and -40C to 105C ambient shutdown and maintains high impedance in shutdown or when operating temperature ranges powered off. APPLICATIONS The DE and RE pins include hot swap circuitry to prevent false Industrial control networks transitions on the bus during power up or live insertion and can enter HVAC networks a 1nA low current shutdown mode for extreme power savings. Building and process automation Remote utility meter reading The XR33052/55/58 are half-duplex transceivers offered in an Energy monitoring and control 8-pin NSOIC package and operates at a maximum data rates of 250k, Long or unterminated transmission lines 1M and 20Mbps. The XR33053 is a full-duplex transceiver offered in a 14-pin NSOIC package and operates at a maximum data rate of 1 Mbps.
