BBuucckk HHiigghh PPoowweerr LLEEDD DDrriivveerr March 2009 Rev. 1.0.0 GENERAL DESCRIPTION APPLICATIONS The XRP7604 is a non-synchronous voltage General Lighting and Displays mode PWM step down converter with Architectural and Accent Lighting integrated high side FET optimized to drive high power LEDs at up to 1A of continuous Medical and Industrial Instrumentation current. A wide 4.5V to 29V input voltage Video Projectors range allows for single supply operations from industry standard 5V, 12V or 24V power rails. FEATURES A 1.2MHz constant operating frequency allows for small external components selection while 1A Continous Output Current Capable an internal type II control loop compensation 4.5V to 29V Single Rail Input Voltage reduces the overall component count and solution footprint. A low 200mV feedback 1.2MHz Constant Switching Frequency reference voltage minimizes power dissipation Internal Control Loop Compensation in the system while efficiency is mazimized via a 100% duty cycle capability. Dimming and 0.2V Feedback Reference Voltage shutdown mode is provided via an enable 2.5% Output Voltage Accuracy function when required. An adjustable over current and under voltage lock out protection Built-in Soft Start insures safe operations under abnormal PWM & Analog Dimming Capability operating conditions. Adjustable Over-Current Protection The XRP7604 is pin compatible with Exars XRP7603 and SP7600, non synchronous buck Pin Compatible with 500mA rated high power led drivers respectively rated at XRP7603 & 2A rated SP7600 500mA and 2A. Thermally Enhanced Package The XRP7604 is offered in a compact thermally RoHS Compliant Green/Halogen Free enhanced RoHS compliant green/halogen 8-pin SO Package free 8-pin SO package.
