MB-SAT (Molecular Biology Self-Assessment Tests) is a series of online tests designed to measure students’ and researchers’ knowledge and skill in the field of molecular biology. Each test consists of 260 multiple-choice questions and is divided into three parts: basic concepts, advanced concepts, and advanced topics. The basic concepts part of the test covers general topics like DNA structure, protein structure and function, gene expression and regulation, disease, and biotechnology. The advanced concepts part includes more specialized topics such as DNA cloning and polymerase chain reaction, genomics and proteomics, molecular epidemiology, and molecular genetics. The advanced topics part covers special topics such as bioinformatics, computational molecular biology, gene therapy, and other related topics. MB-SAT is designed to assess competency in molecular biology and is an essential part of the Molecular Biology course requirements at many institutions.
