Pain questionnaire
The BP-4 part of the McGill Pain Questionnaire is designed to measure the intensity of psychological and emotional distress caused by pain in a given patient. This section asks respondents to rate the intensity of their pain on a scale of zero to ten (with zero representing no pain and ten representing extreme pain), as well as to indicate the degree of certain psychological and emotional distress associated with their pain. This includes questions regarding the patient's level of anxiety, frustration, depression, fear of movement, etc. Furthermore, this section also includes questions regarding the patient's degree of belief in their own ability to cope and manage their pain, as well as the degree of interference the pain has on their life. The BP-4 part of the McGill Pain Questionnaire is used to gain an understanding of the psychological and emotional aspects of pain, which can provide insight into a patient's overall experience and the best course of treatment.
