MLX90333 Position Sensor Datasheet Features and Benefits Description Absolute 3D Position Sensor The MLX90333 is a Tria is Position Sensor able to sense any magnet moving in its surrounding Simple & Robust Magnetic Design through the measurement and the processing of Tria is Hall Technology the 3 spatial components of the magnetic flux Programmable Linear Transfer Characteristics density vector (i.e. B , B and B ). X Y Z (Alpha, Beta) The horizontal components (B and B ) are sensed Selectable Analog (Ratiometric), PWM, Serial X Y thanks to an Integrated Magneto-Concentrator Protocol ) is sensed (IMC) while the vertical component (B Z 12 bit Angular Resolution - 10 bit Angular through conventional Hall plate. Thermal Accuracy The MLX90333 features a contactless position 40 bit ID Number sensor mode suitable for rotary position sensor Single Die SOIC-8 Package RoHS Compliant (through-shaft magnet), linear stroke position Dual Die (Full Redundant) TSSOP-16 Package sensor (magnet displacement parallel to the RoHS Compliant device surface) and for 3DJoystic position sensor. The processed position information is ultimately reported as a ratiometric analog output or as PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation) signal. In case of SOIC-8 TSSOP-16 3DJoystic mode, the device features 2 independent outputs. A 3-pin SPI (serial interface) mode is also available to transfer the position Applications information to a host-controller. 3D Position Sensor The output transfer characteristic is fully Joystick programmable (e.g. offset, gain, clamping levels, 4-Way Scroll Key linearity, thermal drift, filtering, range...) to match any specific requirement through end-of-line Joypad calibration. The Melexis programming unit PTC-04 Man Machine Interface Device communicates and calibrates the device Linear Position Sensor DD- exclusively through the connector terminals (V VSS-OUT).
