The 25LC256-I/SM is a 32,768-bit Serial Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) device which is organized as 256K bits of 8-bit words. It is manufactured by Microchip and can be accessed via a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). The device operates on a single 2.5V to 5.5V supply and has a maximum clock frequency of 10MHz for an 8-bit shift operation. It has an 8-lead JEDEC SOIC and 8-lead PDIP package. The device features a self-timed write cycle which requires no external delay. It also features an 8-byte page write mode which enables up to 8 bytes of data to be programmed at a time, reducing programming time. The device incorporates additional features such as, a fourth Status register, Block Protection Program/Erase, Enhanced ESD/Latch-up protection, and an Industrial temperature range.
