TechnologyThe KSZ8863MLL is a 3-port, 10/100 Ethernet switch with one MII (Media Independent Interface) interface manufactured by Microchip Technology. It is a lead-free IC designed to allow integrated connectivity in a variety of network architecture applications. The device provides a cost-effective solution to add Ethernet connectivity to a system and features an efficient, low-cost packet switching mechanism. It is a high-performance, single-chip integrated Ethernet switch that offers packet buffering, forwarding, filtering, and switching functions. It also includes a built-in MII interface to provide connectivity from an external controller/MAC device. The device features a variety of features such as port authentication, Quality of Service (QoS), Auto-Cross Over (auto MDI/MDI-X), and Automatic Packet Recognition (APR) to simplify users’ Ethernet design. This device also offers low-power operation and is compliant with IEEE 802.3 standards.
