MCP3021 MCP3021 2 Low-Power 10-Bit A/D Converter with I C Interface Features General Description 10-bit Resolution Microchips MCP3021 is a successive approximation A/D converter (ADC) with a 10-bit resolution. Available 1 LSB DNL, 1 LSB INL maximum in the SOT-23 package, this device provides one 250 A Max Conversion Current single-ended input with very low-power consumption. 5 nA Typical Standby Current, 1 A maximum Based on an advanced CMOS technology, the 2 I C Compatible Serial Interface MCP3021 provides a low maximum conversion current 2 - 100 kHz I C Standard mode and standby current of 250 A and 1 A, respectively. 2 Low-current consumption, combined with the small - 400 kHz I C Fast mode SOT-23 package, make this device ideal for bat- Up to 8 Devices on a Single 2-wire Bus tery-powered and remote data acquisition applications. 2 22.3 ksps in I C Fast mode Communication to the MCP3021 is performed using a Single-Ended Analog Input Channel 2 2-wire I C compatible interface. Standard (100 kHz) On-Chip Sample and Hold 2 and Fast (400 kHz) I C modes are available with the On-Chip Conversion Clock device. An on-chip conversion clock enables indepen- 2 Single-Supply Specified Operation: 2.7V to 5.5V dent timing for the I C and conversion clocks.
