The MCP73832T-2ACI/OT is a battery charger controller manufactured by Microchip. It is a highly integrated, low cost single-cell Li-Ion linear battery charger with built-in linear supervisor and system power selector. It is capable of automatically selecting between two power input sources – USB port or AC adapter. Utilizing the MCP73832T-2ACI/OT helps reduce total system cost and maximize run-time. It includes safety features such as input current limiting, thermal shutdown and short circuit protection. The MCP73832T-2ACI/OT operates from a 4.5 V to 6.3 V input and provides a guaranteed minimum input current limit of 130mA. It also includes an integrated linear controller that provides additional battery protection features such as end of charge voltage, charge current, end of charge timer, and battery temperature monitoring. The supervisor includes a power fail comparator, watchdog timer, low battery detect, overvoltage protection, and an integrated system power selector.
