MIC2568 Micrel MIC2568 Dual-Slot PC Card/CardBus Power Controller Preliminary General Description Features The MIC2568 dual-slot PC Card / CardBus power controller Complete single-chip dual-slot power switch is a V and V power switch matrix that supports 3.3V and No external components required CC PP 5V PC Card (PCMCIA) slot power supply pins. Output current limit and thermal shutdown Ultra-low power consumption The MIC2568 can switch PC Card slot V voltages between CC Compatible with standard PC Card logic controllers 0V (ground), 3.3V and 5.0V and V voltages between 0V PP Break-before-make switching (no transients) (ground), 3.3V, 5V, or high impedance at output currents of Digital V and V voltage selection up to 1A for V and 250mA for V . The MIC2568 features CC PP CC PP > 1A V output current per slot well-controlled voltage rise and fall times. Each MIC2568 CC > 200mA V output current per slot output voltage is switched by two digital inputs, typically PP 28-pin SSO and TSSO package controlled from a separate PC Card logic controller. Pb-free 28-pin SSO package The MIC2568 is designed for efficient operation. In standby UL recognized, file 179633 (sleep) mode the device draws very little quiescent current, Applications typically only 0.3 A. The power controller includes thermal shutdown and protects itself and its PC Card ports with Dual-slot PC Card power supply voltage switch current limiting. Full cross-conduction lockout protects the CardBus slot power supply control system power supplies.
