R&E International A Subsidiary of Microchip Technology Inc. RE46C152 CMOS Ionization Smoke Detector ASIC with Interconnect, Timer Mode and Tone Select Product Specification Features General Description >1500V ESD Protection (HBM) on all Pins The RE46C152 is a low power CMOS ionization type Guard Outputs for Ion Detector Input smoke detector IC. With few external components this +/-0.75pA Detect Input Current circuit will provide all the required features for an ionization type smoke detector. Internal Reverse Battery Protection Low Quiescent Current Consumption (<6.5uA) An internal oscillator strobes power to the smoke 16L PDIP detection circuitry for 10.5mS every 1.66 seconds to Internal Low Battery Detection keep standby current to a minimum. A check for a low Power Up Low Battery Test battery condition is performed every 40 seconds when Interconnect up to 40 Detectors in standby. The Tone input allows for selection of a Pin selectable horn patterns temporal pattern or a 2/3 duty cycle continuous tone. The temporal horn pattern supports the NFPA 72 8 Minute Timer for Sensitivity Control emergency evacuation signal. Available in RoHS Compliant Pb Free Packaging. An interconnect pin allows multiple detectors to be Pin Configuration connected such that when one units alarms all units will sound. An internal 8 minute timer allows for a separate button GUARD2 TSTART 1 16 to be used for reduced sensitivity mode. Single button IO DETECT operation for test and timer mode is also possible. 2 15 Although this device was designed for smoke detection TONE GUARD1 3 14 utilizing an ionization chamber it could be used in a TSTROBE VSEN 4 13 variety of security applications. OSCAP LED 5 12 Utilizing low power CMOS technology the RE46C152 was designed for use in smoke detectors that comply HS VDD 6 11 with Underwriters Laboratory Specification UL217 and UL268.
