Contacts Retainer – A molded part with fingers which helps to secure the contacts in the correct position. 20. Contact Block – The molded block which holds the contacts in place. 21. Contact Block Retainer – A tiny clip that holds the contact block in place. 22. Crimp Barrel – The metal attachment which secures the conductor to the contact. 23. Strain Relief Lock – A mechanism which locks the strain relief firmly in place. 24. Seam Seal – Secures wire in the connector and also seals the back of the connector. 25. Locking Tabs – Thin tabs which slide into the housing to secure and lock the connector. 26. Contacts Holder – An extra placeholder which fits into the housing and keeps the contacts in the correct position. 27. Clip – Simplifies assembly by keeping the components together. 28. Gasket – Creates a watertight seal around the connection. 29. Conductor – Metal wire that carries an electrical signal. 30. Cap – Covers the housing and prevents accidental contact with the pins. 31. Screws – Secure the entire connector assembly together. 32. Plug – The mating portion of the connector which is inserted into the connector. 33. Stopbar – Prevents the plug being inserted too far into the connector. 34. Chassis Flange – Keeps the connector assembly and housing secured to the chassis. 35. Indexing Post – Used to align two mating parts together and keep them in a predetermined orientation. 36.
