MP24971 1.5A, 50V, 100kHz, 5V Fixed Output Step- Down Converter with Programmable Current Limit and Output Line-Drop Compensation The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP24971 is a monolithic, step-down, Wide 8V-to-50V Operating Input Range switch-mode converter with a programmable Output Over-Voltage Protection output-current limit. It has a fixed 5V/1.5A 5V Fixed Output continuous output over a wide input supply 0.4 Internal Power MOSFET range, and has excellent load and line Internal 4ms Soft-Start regulation. It has an internal 2ms-to-4ms soft- Stable with Low-ESR Ceramic Output start that prevents inrush current at start-up, Capacitors and compensates for output line drop. Fixed 100kHz Frequency MP24971 achieves a low EMI signature with Low EMI Signature well-controlled switching edges. Thermal Shutdown Output Line-Drop Compensation It has fault-condition protections including Hiccup Circuit Limit and Short Circuit hiccup-mode current limit protection, short- Protection circuit protection, output over-voltage Available in SOIC8 and SOIC8E Package protection, and thermal shutdown. The MP24971 requires a minimal number of APPLICATIONS readily-available standard external components, USB Power Supplies and is available in SOIC8 and SOIC8E Automotive Power Adapters packages.
