MP3387L Step-up, 6 strings, Max.45mA/string, Combined Analog and PWM dimming, White LED Driver The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP3387L is a step-up converter with 6- 6-String, Max 45mA/String channel current sources. It is designed for 3V to 26V Input Voltage Range driving the white LED arrays as backlighting of 3% Current Matching Accuracy Between middle or large size LCD panel. Strings Programmable Switching Frequency The MP3387L uses peak-current mode as its Selectable Combined Analog and PWM PWM control architecture. The switching Dimming Mode or Pure PWM Dimming frequency can be programmed by a resistor. It Mode generates an output voltage up to 45V from a Combined Analog and PWM Dimming Mode 3V to 26V input supply. The MP3387L with 25% Dimming Transfer Point independently regulates the current in each 24kHz to 27.5kHz Output Dimming LED string to the value set by an external Frequency to eliminate audible noise current-setting resistor. Programmable Over-Voltage Protection The MP3387L applies 6 internal current Recoverable Thermal Shutdown Protection sources in each LED string terminal to achieve Cycle by Cycle Over Current Protection a current balance with 3% current regulation Under-Voltage Lockout accuracy between strings. Its low 500mV TQFN24 (4X4mm) Package regulation voltage on LED current sources reduces power loss. APPLICATIONS The MP3387L features external digital PWM Notebook PC dimming and analog dimming, both of which Small LCD TV sharing a single input with 25% PWM duty cycle Handy Terminals Display as a transfer point.
