MP5402 36V, 5A, Frequency-Selectable Step-Down Converter with Smart, Dual USB Charging Ports DESCRIPTION FEATURES Wide 7V to 36V Operating Input Voltage The MP5402 integrates a monolithic, step- Range down, switch-mode converter with two USB Fixed 5V Output Voltage with Line Drop current-limit switches and a charging port Compensation identification circuit. The MP5402 achieves 5A Accurate USB1/USB2 Output Current Limit of continuous output current with excellent load and line regulation over a wide input supply 40m/32m Low-R Internal Buck DS(ON) range. Power MOSFETs 24m/24m Low-R Internal DS(ON) The output of the USB switch is current-limited. USB1/USB2 Power MOSFETs Both USB ports support DCP schemes for the 350kHz / 250kHz / 150kHz Frequency battery charging specification (BC1.2), divider Selectable mode, and 1.2V/1.2V mode, eliminating the Programmable Line Drop Compensation need for outside user interaction. Output Over-Voltage Protection (OVP) The output voltage has programmable line drop Hiccup Current Limit compensation. Supports DCP Schemes for BC1.2, Divider Mode, and 1.2V/1.2V Mode Full protection features include hiccup current limiting, output over-voltage protection (OVP), 8kV HBM ESD Rating for USB, DP, and and thermal shutdown.
