MP8757 High Efficiency, 7A, 18V Synchronous, Step-Down Converter DESCRIPTION FEATURES Wide 5V to 18V Operating Input Range The MP8757 is a fully-integrated, high 7A Continuous Output Current frequency, synchronous, rectified, step-down converter. It offers a very compact solution to Low R (ON) Internal Power MOSFETs DS achieve a 7A output current over a wide input- Proprietary Switching Loss Reduction supply range with excellent load and line Technique regulation. Internal Soft Start Output Discharge MP8757 employs the Constant-On-Time (COT) 500kHZ Switching Frequency control scheme, which provides fast transient response, eases loop stabilization. The COT OCP, OVP, UVP Protection and Thermal control scheme provides seamless transition to Shutdown PFM mode at light load operation which boosts Latch off Reset via EN or Power Cycle the light load efficiency. Output Adjustable from 0.604V to 5.5V Under voltage lockout is internally set as 4.5V. APPLICATIONS An open drain power good signal indicates Laptop Computer output voltage is within its nominal voltage range. Tablet PC Networking Systems Full protection features include OCP, OVP, and Server thermal shut down. Personal Video Recorders MP8757 requires minimum number of external Flat Panel Television and Monitors components and are available in QFN21 Distributed Power Systems (3mmx4mm) package.
