MP8796B 16V, 30A, Scalable, Digital, Synchronous Step-Down Converter with PMBus DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP8796B is a fully integrated, PMBus- PMBus 1.3 Compliant compatible, high-frequency, synchronous buck Scalable Multi-Phase Operation converter. The MP8796B offers a very compact 3.1V to 16V with External 3.3V VCC Bias, solution that achieves up to 30A of output 4V to 16V with Internal Bias or External current per phase with excellent load and line 3.3V VCC Bias regulation over a wide input supply range. The 30A Continuous Output Current per Phase MP8796B operates at high efficiency over a Low R Integrated Power MOSFETs DS(ON) wide output current load range. Lossless, Accurate On-Die Current Sensing Adaptive COT for Ultra-Fast Transient The PMBus interface provides converter Response configurations and key parameter monitoring. Stable with Zero-ESR Output Capacitors The MP8796B adopts MPSs proprietary, multi- 0.5% Reference Voltage Over 0C to +70C phase constant-on-time (MCOT) control, which Junction Temperature Range provides fast transient response and eases loop Output Voltage True Remote Sense stabilization. The MCOT control scheme also Output Adjustable from 0.4V to 0.9 x V Up IN allows multiple MP8796B devices to be to 5.5V Max connected in parallel with excellent current Output Voltage/Current, Input Voltage, and sharing and phase interleaving for high-current Junction Temperature Reporting applications.
