NBC 80-12I Nerbo

NBC 80-12I is a specification developed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) that sets out requirements for the design, construction, and operation of nuclear power plants. It is the most comprehensive set of standards for the safe operation of nuclear power plants in the United States. The NRC established NBC 80-12I to ensure public safety and ensure that the risk of radiation exposure and contamination is kept to a minimum. NBC 80-12I requires operators of nuclear installations to establish and maintain emergency procedures, radiation protection programs, and a system of emergency management. Operators must also establish and maintain radiation protection programs, a system for emergency management, and other protective measures for the safety of workers and the public. NBC 80-12I is regularly reviewed and amended as new technologies and procedures are developed.
