's journey
Ninigi's journey to Takachiho on the island of Kyushu is part of 1M33T1B1M1QE (or "Mizuho no Miyako Meguri," which translates as "The Journey around the Shining Capital"). This is a religious pilgrimage during which Ninigi visits several sites related to Japan's mythological foundation and is dedicated to Amaterasu, the Sun Goddess. The pilgrimage includes visits to Kumano Sanzan (Three Grand Shrines of Kumano) in the Kii Peninsula, Koyasan (Mt. Koya) in the Chugoku Sanin Region, and Ise Jingu (The Grand Shrine of Ise), before finally arriving at Takachiho in Kyushu. The purpose of the pilgrimage is to honor and show gratitude to the deities of the Imperial pantheon, and to give thanks to the gods who supported Japan's imperial family, and to pay homage to the Amaterasu, ancestor of the Imperial line. The 1M33T1B1M1QE is meant to reflect the shared ideals of the Japanese people and reaffirm the legitimacy of the imperial system.
