Additional Infomation About Product

MOD-RTC The Olimex MOD-RTC is a Real-Time Clock (RTC) module for use with Arduino boards and other microcontroller systems. It provides accurate timekeeping for keeping track of time, setting accurate schedules, and logging time-sensitive events. The clock is based on a special type of integrated circuit (IC) called a Programmable Real-Time Clock (PRTC). This IC tracks time by counting minutes, hours, days, and months and can be programmed to automatically adjust clock settings to account for Daylight Savings Time or other seasonal changes. The MOD-RTC is capable of maintaining accuracy of up to 1 ppm when running off an external 32.768KHz high precision crystal oscillator. It also has a built-in backup battery that can provide enough power to keep the clock ticking for up to 4 years. The module is designed to be easy to use, with a built-in push-button for setting up and changing clock displays, as well as an I2C control for communicating with microcontrollers.
