The SE052 is an ultra-low power Arm Cortex M0+ microcontroller from Nuvoton, developed specifically for secure applications. It features an onboard TrustZone-M Secure Element and a cryptographic accelerator, making it well suited for products that require high levels of security such as payments and IoT applications. The device also includes a built-in cryptographic accelerator allowing fast cryptographic operations including support for TLS, ECC, RSA, SHA and AES. The SE052 is part of Nuvoton’s Pico Series, which is a family of single-chip microcontrollers that target low-cost and entry-level applications. The SE052 features a 64MHz Arm Cortex M0+ MCU with up to 48KB SRAM and 512KB Flash, 2x UART, SPI, and I2C from an integrated Crystal Oscillator. The SE052 is capable of reading/writing and protecting against fraud on third-party external storage chips or flash cards, with a built-in anti-cloning feature for payment cards. It is a cost-effective solution for secure application development in the low-end market.
