Balboa
The Pololu Balboa Chassis with Stability Conversion is a robotic tank chassis kit that includes everything you need to build a tracked robot that can vary its speed, turn effectively, and maintain stability when moving quickly. The kit includes two Pololu 3756a micro metal gearmotors, two high-traction treaded tracks, adjustable top and side plates, a chassis plate, and mounting hardware. It also includes the Balboa 32U4 Control Board, which is an Arduino-compatible board with an Atmega32U4 processor and integrated USB connection that can be used to control both brushed and brushless motors. The Balboa 32U4 Board also features several built-in sensors, including two 3-axis digital accelerometers, two gyroscopes with temperature compensation, a 3-axis digital magnetometer, and a 3-axis digital encoder. The board also features a power/battery management system for LiPo batteries, as well as reverse polarity protection. The Balboa 32U4 board includes an optional expansion port that allows external modules to be connected, including Balboa IMUs, motor driver expansion boards, and more. The chassis also comes with Pololu's QTR-8RC reflectance sensor array, which can be used to detect the presence and location of line edges. Finally, the chassis kit includes a 5V, 7.2A switching regulator, power switch, and power reset circuit.
