The Pololu Dual MAX14870 Motor Driver Shield is a shield that can be used to interface a set of discrete motors with a variety of microcontroller systems. It uses the MAX14870, a high-power brushed DC motor driver IC, to provide up to 5 A continuous output current per motor and supports motor voltages from 4 V to 28 V. It features a generous, 600 mO power impedance, 1.5 A peak output current per motor with a 1 ms slew rate, and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. The shield also includes a 3.3V logic regulator, a 5V DC-DC converter, and two power MOSFETs that support the logic and motor supply voltages. The shield provides two 6-pin headers and two 4-pin headers on its bottom side, which can be used to connect two discrete DC motors.
