The MAXBOTIX XL-MAXSONAR-AE3 MB1330 ultrasonic range finder is a compact, high-performance sensor module that uses ultrasound to measure distance between 2 cm and 3 m. It is capable of providing range information from a variety of objects, and is suitable for a variety of applications including robotics, security, industrial, and medical. It is easy to interface and contains a built-in temperature sensor, user selectable current consumption, and more. The device can communicate through serial (RX/TX), analogue, and pulse width modulation (PWM) outputs, which makes the sensor easy to integrate into any system. The included mounting bracket allows for easy mounting to walls or any flat surface and the sensor can connect directly to a power source for ease of installation. The sensor also features a “Range_Accept” pin, which allows for automatically resetting the range/speed when the object is no longer within range.
