The Pololu QTR-MD-05RC Reflectance Sensor Array is a modular set of five analog line sensors that can detect lines, edges, or barcodes on a surface. Each module includes an array of five infrared (IR) reflectance sensors, an 8-pin socket, a voltage regulator, and three mounting holes for easy installation. The sensors are sensitive to IR light, and the amount of reflected light correlates with the color and reflectivity of the surface. With it, you can design robots that can track lines, detect changes in reflectivity, and distinguish between different patterns or objects. The sensitivity of each sensor can be adjusted using onboard trimpots. The QTR-MD-05RC has an operating voltage range of 4.5 V to 5.5 V and it can be used in mobile and stationary applications.
