A Stepper Motor is an electric motor that uses a magnetic field to rotate a shaft step-by-step in discrete angular increments. This specific stepper motor, the Pololu 57x56 mm Unipolar/Bipolar Stepper Motor, has a 57 mm body diameter, a 56 mm body length, and 4 wires for controlling the motor. The motor has a 7-step per revolution with a gear reduction of 1:64, meaning that the gearbox output shaft turns one-sixtieth of a turn for every revolution of the motor. It can be operated with a wide range of power supply voltages, from 6 to 30 V, and can take up to 1.5 A/phase without a heat sink.
