The 1614-0 part of Pomona is a 9.2 mile (14.8 km) looping hiking trail located in the Angeles National Forest in the San Gabriel Mountains. The trail can be accessed from Crystal Lake Road, off of Highway 39, in the San Gabriel Mountains. The trail offers stunning vistas of the Angeles National Forest and can be used as part of a day hike or a longer backpacking trip. From the trailhead, hikers ascend a steady 1,000 feet along narrow switchbacks, rolling through sections of forest and grasslands, before leveling off and following a rocky ridgeline. Along the way, hikers may encounter deer, lizards, and occasional bears. The trail then circles around the San Gabriel Reservoir and continues back to the trailhead, offering panoramic views of the Cleveland National Forest and the San Gabriel Mountains.
