Unscreened Multicore Cables 7-1-xxA Series Feature: These standard, miniature sub-miniature cables are manufactured to Ministry of Defence, Defence standard 61-12 part 4 (for miniature and sub-miniature sizes) These multicore flexible cables are designed for high density wiring between components and within instruments and electronic equipment. They are extensively used in aircraft, avionic control systems, computers, data processors, process control systems, military vehicles and ancillary military equipment. Because of the mechanical design of these cables they should not be used for direct connection of equipment to mains power supplies 7-1-9A and 7-1-15A are core number and sheath colours not specifically listed in Defence Standard 61-12 parts 4, but because of their suitability for applications in the electronics industry are manufactured with these configurations in conformance with specifications for similar cables included in the defence standard Defence standard 61-12 Part 4 Signal security cable Technical Specifications: Voltage Rating : 250 Vrms Maximum Current Per Core : 0.25 A 2 Conductor Area : 0.055 mm per core Maximum Operating Temperature : 70C Sheath Colour : Black Nominal Insulation Radial Thickness on Core : 0.2 mm Nominal Core Resistance : 348 / Km, 20C Nominal Conductor Diameter Per Core : 0.3 mm Nominal Overall Diameter Per Core : 0.7 mm Colour Rotation of Cores The sequence of colours used for core identification as follows: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, White, Black, Brown, Violet, Orange, Pink, Turquoise, Grey, Red / Blue, Green/Red, Yellow/Red, White / Red, Red / Black, Red / Brown, Yellow / Blue, White / Blue, Blue / Black, Orange / Blue, Green / Blue, Grey / Blue, Yellow / Green, White / Green, Green / Black, Orange / Green, Grey / Green, Yellow / Brown, White / Brown, Brown / Black, Grey / Brown, Yellow / Violet, Violet / Black, White / Violet For Bicolour, first colour is base colour, second colour is tracer Core colours for 25 core cable are as above, excluding Green / Blue, Grey / Blue and Green / Black www.element14.com www.farnell.com www.newark.com www.cpc.co.uk Page <1> 23/04/12 V1.1Unscreened Multicore Cables 7-1-xxA Series Specification Table Nominal Diameter Cable Number Length (m) Part Number Reference of Cores Minimum Maximum 7-1-2A 2 2 2.5 850062 25M 25 850057 25M 7-1-3A 3 2.1 2.6 100 850057 100M 25 850053 25M 7-1-4A 4 2.3 2.8 100 850053 100M 25 850063 25M 7-1-6A 6 2.8 3.3 100 850063 100M 25 850055 25M 7-1-9A 9 3.4 3.9 100 850055 100M 7-1-12A 12 3.6 4.1 25 850073 100M 7-1-15A 15 4.1 4.5 100 711615 Part Number Explanation: P 1 A 7 Nominal Type of Number of Number Diameter of Construction Wires per of Cores Each Wire Conductor Nominal Diameter of Each Wire : 1 = 0.1 mm Number of Cores : 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 25 and 36 Type of Construction : A = Tinned Conductors Insulated with PVC to BS6746 Type 2, Overall Sheathed with PVC to BS6746 Type 6 Important Notice : This data sheet and its contents (theInformatio) belong to the members of the Premier Farnell group of companies (theGrou) or are licensed to it.
