The Realtek RTL8208G-GR is a single-chip Gigabit Ethernet controller. It is designed to provide high performance, low power, and high integration features, while providing a cost-effective solution for PC and network applications. The RTL8208G-GR is compliant with IEEE 802.3u 100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet standard, IEEE 802.3z 1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet standard and IEEE 802.3x Flow Control. It supports 10/100/1000Mbps auto-negotiation. This controller provides a versatile media access controller (MAC) with a 32-bit bus master host interface, four 3.125 Gbps SerDes Physical Coding Sublayers (PCS), two SerDes Auto-Negotiation Ports and one Parallel MII port. It also incorporates advanced features such as 4K MAC Address Table and multiple VLANs frame processing, permitting maximum of 8K VLANs in the system. It also supports 802.1Q VLAN Tagging and 802.1p traffic prioritization to ensure a smooth traffic flow in high performance network applications.
