Roztocze is a large, hilly region located in southeastern Poland. It is part of the Lublin Voivodeship and is characterized by forests, marshlands and ponds, as well as many rivers, including the Bug and San Rivers. ... ST7.002 is a protected area of Roztocze, located in the south-western part of the region. This area consists of an archeological reserve, a nature reserve and several monuments. The archeological reserve is rich in ancient remains from pre-Slavic and Slavic cultures, and contains ruins of castles, settlements, cemeteries and fortified settlements. The nature reserve is mainly composed of forests, wetlands and pastures, with a rich biodiversity. It is home to many species of mammals, birds and fish that can be found in the area’s fresh and saltwater ponds, lakes and marshes. There are also several monuments in ST7.002, including churches and hermitages, wooden chapels and crosses, and a few historical buildings.
