It is bordered by the Vistula River to the north and the Bug River to the east, as well as the Beskid Mountains, the Sudovian Lowlands, and Eastern Galicia to the south and west. The region consists mostly of north-eastern part of the Lublin Uplands, surrounded by Polesie woodlands.

4. History: Roztocze has a long and rich history, dating back to the middle ages. Throughout its tumultuous past, the region has been inhabited by a variety of different cultures, including the Slavs, Lithuanians, Jewish people, and Poles. During the Partitions of Poland, the area became a part of Austria, and eventually part of the Republic of Poland following World War I.
