-Bus
R3-64 is a 64-line system bus for the control of SCI hardware. It is a scalable interconnection system that enables the fast and efficient sharing of resources between computer systems, devices, and other elements such as printers, modems, and other peripherals. It was developed by the SCI-Bus Consortium and is based on a core of 32 data lines along with their associated control lines, and an additional 32 control lines. This bus operates in a synchronous bus cycle running at speeds of up to 16MHz, and it supports up to 7 physical layers and up to 64 virtual layers. R3-64 provides a much higher data rate than other similar buses, faster data exchange times, and reduced power consumption. It is also capable of achieving very low latency as a result of its synchronous nature.
