The ASY5584 is a network processor from Silicon Labs. It is a single-chip system-on-chip (SoC) device that combines a 32-bit CPU core, an Ethernet interface, and a variety of I/O interfaces in a single package. It is designed for use in embedded applications, such as home gateways, digital consumer devices, and machine-to-machine (M2M) solutions. The device features a 600MHz prorietary processor based on ARM ThumbEE and a high-performance, low-power 250MHz Ethernet media access controller (MAC). It also integrates a rich set of peripherals, such as PCI Express, USB, UART, and I2C, and provides many options for power management and system control.
