Additional Infomation About Product

The L4940V5 is a linear voltage regulator manufactured by STMicroelectronics. It is a low dropout (LDO) regulator with a fixed output voltage of 5V and a maximum current of 1.5A. It has a TO220 package for Through-Hole (THT) mounting with a 0.12 Ohm output transistor, making it a very efficient and reliable voltage regulator. The L4940V5 has an additional feature of overvoltage shut off that provides protection to connected circuits in case of higher voltage inputs beyond its specified limits. It also has an additional reverse polarity protection, assuring a longer life for the unit. Due to its wide operating temperature range and good power dissipation, the L4940V5 is suitable for a variety of applications ranging from consumer applications to industrial and automotive applications.
