?The KG8-470T Surge Arrestor with 500A 680nF 423V~517V 2 axial leaded, 8x6mm Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) ROHS manufactured by SURGING is a device used for the protection of AC power lines against over-voltage transients. It features two electrodes sealed into an epoxy resin cylinder filled with gas, and has an internal ceramic resistor and coil for energy control. The device has been designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic systems from over voltage transients that result from the switching of inductive loads, lightning, surges, etc. The KG8-470T can absorb a large amount of surge energy, up to 500A in some cases, while remaining within the ROHS compliance.
