TLR00323 is an eight-credit course offered by the Department of Transactional Law and Practice (TLR) at Syracuse University. The course provides law students with an introduction to the important topics and areas of law practice, including licensure requirements, legal research and writing, interviewing and negotiating, transactional drafting, and problem-solving. Students use a combination of oral and written communication skills to develop a set of draft documents addressing the client's needs. Students prepare and present recommendations for resolving legal disputes, evaluate sample documents, and study legal cases to gain an understanding of the application of legal doctrine. Through this course, students build their knowledge of legal processes and principles, transactional law, and related legal facets specific to the practice of law.
